By creating an account, generating an API key, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to these Terms.
locodata.ai provides an API and web interface for accessing enriched UN/LOCODE location data, including geographic coordinates, port connectivity scores, shipping route data, maritime disruption alerts, and historical AIS analytics. The Service is intended strictly for professional, corporate, and commercial use.
You must create an account to access most features of the Service. You agree to:
We reserve the right to suspend, throttle, or terminate accounts that violate these security requirements or these Terms.
Your use of the API is strictly subject to the rate limits and quotas of your selected subscription tier:
Fair-Use Policy: Regardless of tier, we reserve the right to throttle, temporarily suspend, or block access if your usage pattern is determined, at our sole discretion, to be abusive, malicious, or harmful to the stability, infrastructure, or performance of the Service.
Permitted uses include integrating locodata.ai API responses into your own software applications, internal dashboards, logistics platforms, and internal business tools.
You strictly agree NOT to use the Service to:
Paid subscriptions are billed and processed securely through Stripe.
The underlying baseline UN/LOCODE dataset is published by the UNECE and is freely available in the public domain.
However, locodata.ai's proprietary enrichment layer — including but not limited to geographic matching logic, port cluster definitions, connectivity scoring metrics, AIS route aggregation pipelines, conditional interlinks mapping, and alert classification models — is the exclusive intellectual property of locodata.ai. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to display and utilize derived API responses inside your applications, but you may not replicate, clone, or redistribute our proprietary enrichment logic or derived databases.
THE SERVICE PROVIDES MARITIME INFORMATION "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE." While we utilize advanced AI pipelines and multi-source verification to filter data, maritime logistics, global routing, and geopolitical alert conditions change rapidly. We do not warrant or guarantee the completeness, timeliness, real-time accuracy, or commercial reliability of the data. The Service is not a substitute for official navarea warnings, port authority notices, or mandatory safety documentation. You assume all operational risk for decisions made based on this data.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LOCODATA.AI, ITS OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, CARGO LOSS, VESSEL DEMURRAGE FEES, SHIPPING DELAYS, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL LOCODATA.AI'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00) OR THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO LOCODATA.AI FOR THE SPECIFIC SERVICE IN QUESTION DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
We aim to provide professional-grade uptime, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We reserve the right to perform emergency maintenance, pipeline deployments, or system updates without prior notice, which may result in temporary outages. We are not liable for any logistical errors, financial losses, or operational disruptions caused by Service downtime.
You may delete your account and terminate these Terms at any time by contacting hello@locodata.ai. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any breach of these Terms, non-payment, or suspicion of fraudulent activities. Upon termination, your right to use the Service and your API keys will cease immediately.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users via email and by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any modifications constitutes your formal acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, including the formation or breach thereof, shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The place of arbitration shall be New York, New York. Judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
CLASS ACTION WAIVER: YOU AND LOCODATA.AI AGREE THAT ANY PROCEEDINGS TO RESOLVE DISPUTES WILL BE CONDUCTED SOLELY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
